Gone are the days of whipping her hair in bubblegum pop videos. Willow Smith brings her eclectic vibe to the new issue of CR Fashion Book (on newsstands March 5) as the muse for L.A. jewelry designer Lisa Eisner. Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith’s 14-year-old daughter sports natural bronzy-nude makeup, emerald metallic green nails that resemble sharp claws, and her short hair is worn in its natural textured state with blonde highlights.
“I think my look changes all of the time,” Smith, who has tried a number of eye-catching hairstyles over the years, revealed in the issue. “And right now it’s a bit more messy, kind of grungy.”
In one of the photos, the young star wears a peacock-inspired long-sleeve Saint Laurent dress with a green capelet by Stacia Lang. In another, she displays a Southwestern-inspired look via a maroon long-sleeve top, baggy cropped jeans, and an intricate feathered headdress with turquoise cuff bracelets in another picture.
On the heels of Zendaya Coleman’s talked about feud with E! Fashion Police host Giuliana Rancic last week over her dreadlocks, Smith has a similar beauty direction in mind for the year. “I just want to have dreads,” she told the magazine. “I want to embrace my full self, as natural as I can be.”
