Avicii Postpones All Scheduled Tour Dates: Exclusive

Avicii has postponed all remaining performances this year.

In a statement provided exclusively to Billboard, Avicii’s reps confirm that the Swedish star will move his scheduled gigs at XS and Encore Beach Club in Las Vegas, Storm Festival in Shanghai and Japan’s Fuji-Ku Conifer Forest and Maishima Special Stage to next year for a “larger tour initiative and a well deserved break.”

Avicii reps cite an overloaded summer schedule, the pressures of delivering his sophomore album Stories and his directorial debut on two music videos for new singles “For a Better Day” and “Pure Grinding” as contributing factors to the decision.

“I look forward to keep being innovative with my team in leading a bigger change than just with my music. In moving my tour promotional responsibilities to next year, I have a great opportunity to focus on myself and spend time trying to grow up in a way I never got the chance to – normal, or as normal as it could get,” says Avicii. “My team, label and family have encouraged me to do that and I realize not many in my position get that opportunity.”

Almost exactly one year ago, Avicii was forced to cancel all scheduled performances — including his headlining slot at TomorrowWorld, Vegas residencies and an Asian tour — due to lingering health concerns related to surgeries that had sidelined him for Ultra Music Festival and his April residencies.

Wynn Las Vegas announced the following schedule changes:

Encore Beach Club

Friday, Sept. 4 – Dillon Francis (Zedd previously scheduled)

Saturday, Sept. 5 – Zedd

Sunday, Sept. 13 – Diplo

XS

Friday, Sept. 4 – Skrillex

Saturday, Sept. 12 – Diplo

Saturday, October 31 – TBD
