Fifth Harmony, The Chainsmokers, James Bay & More Added to 2016 American Music Awards Performances

Looks like the 2016 AMA’s has a full roster ready for artist set to hit the stage! Artists Fifth Harmony, James Bay, The Chainsmokers with Halsey, and Carlos Vives with Shakira are set to join Lady Gaga, Green Day, Bruno Mars, Twenty One Pilots, and Merit honoree and performer Sting on Nov. 20. The six added acts all announced the news on twitter.


This will be the first time performing on the AMA stage for James Bay, Fifth Harmony, Halsey, The Chainsmokers and Carlos Vives. Fifth Harmony, The Chainsmokers and Twenty One Pilots are first-time AMA nominees, with the girl group up for Collaboration of the Year (for their hit “Work From Home” with Ty Dolla $ign), the EDM duo for New Artist of the Year, Collaboration of the Year (for “Don’t Let Me Down” with Daya), Favorite Duo or Group – Pop/Rock and Favorite Artist — Electronic Dance Music, while Pilots in the running for Favorite Artist — Alternative Rock, Artist of the Year, Favorite Artist — Alternative Rock, and Favorite Duo or Group — Pop/Rock.

As for the nominations overall, Drake is in the lead with a record-setting 13 noms for Artist of the Year, Favorite Male Artist, Favorite Album, Favorite Rap Artist, Favorite Rap Song and Favorite R&B song, and others. If he takes home a win, it’ll be his first AMA win.

The artist behind Drake happens to be no one other than Rihanna with seven nominations. Behind her is JB and Adele both with five nominations, followed by Beyoncé and The Chainsmokers earning four each and three for Bryson Tiller, Twenty One Pilots, Carrie Underwood, Fetty Wap and the Weeknd. The  show is set to take place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Nov. 20 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
