Ed Sheeran has ended his year-long break from social media, though he hasn’t said anything. The British singer-songwriter updated his Twitter and Instagram accounts for the first time in 12 months with a single blue image and nothing more.
Sheeran announced a break from social media back in December 2015, and made a promise of new music. “To my family and friends, if you love me you will understand me buggering off for a bit, to my fans, the 3rd album is on its way and is the best thing I have made thus far. See you all next autumn, and thank you for being amazing,” he wrote at the time.
The “Thinking Out Loud” singer stayed well out of the spotlight for most of 2016, but he did emerge last month for an appearance at the East Anglian Children’s Hospice gala. Sheeran also penned X Factor U.K. champ Matt Terry’s track When Christmas Comes Around, which should challenge for this week’s U.K. singles chart crown.
