Trina Discusses Past Relationships With Lil Wayne & French Montana on The Breakfast Club

Promoting her new single “Damn” featuring Tory Lanez, Trina stopped by Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club on Wednesday (Jan. 18). During the sit-down, the Miami rapper touched on some of her past relationships with Lil Wayne and French Montana.

Trina revealed how she and former beau French Montana reconciled when the two hugged it out during their performance in Miami for the Bad Boy Reunion Tour. “We didn’t speak before that,” Trina said. “They came to Miami for the concert. I had saw him previously two days ago or something at the studio, just like in passing. I think he was recording with somebody. He asked would I do the concert. I was like, ‘Oh God. OK.'”

She adds that French Montana apologized about the public feud that took place after he dated Khloe Kardashian, shortly after their split, saying, “He was just like, ‘I’m sorry. You’re just a good person. We just had a real good conversation.'”

Trina also spoke on her past relationship with Lil Wayne. The two dated back in 2005 and ended things a year later. As Trina explained in her interview, she felt that age was the biggest hurdle to overcome during their time together.

“Wayne is a very great person,” she said. “Wayne never did anything wrong to me. The thing is, when I dated Wayne — which was so many years ago — we were just real young. Wayne was real young. I was real young. A part of it was, ‘I don’t even know what I’m doing, and I know you don’t know what you’re doing.”

The two even recorded a track detailing their past relationship for Trina’s forthcoming album. “I just hit him and said, ‘I want you to get on this record,’ and that was it. He sent the record back on my birthday, which was crazy. The record is very explosive and what I’m saying, it triggered him to say what he’s saying. He’s very cocky already. It’s a dope record.”
