Kodak Black Settles Lawsuit With Former Record Label

Kodak Black has reached a lawsuit settlement with his former label.

Last December, the rapper was caught up in a messy lawsuit involving his former Florida-based record label over a breach in his contract. In 2013, KB signed a deal with Dollaz N Dealz at 16-years-old. He claimed that they failed to meet certain financial obligations listed in his contract. The label originally offered to pay him regularly as well as accounting services for his finances. In addition, Black revealed that the record label duped him into signing his contract without an attorney present.

Because Dollaz N Dealz CEO, AC Julien, has been incarcerated over the last several years, he has been unable to fulfill his promises to Black. The breach of contract has been settled outside of court, resulting in the judge to toss out the case against Dollaz N Dealz.

In 2015, Black signed to Atlantic Records. His current single, “Tunnel Vision” is at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100. Black’s debut album Painting Pictures will be released March 31. Last February, he was forced to postpone his Back and Better Tour after he was arrested in Florida for violating his probation.
